KAYLEIGH BYERS/HELEN KIM MEMORIAL MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship has been created by the Illini Central Music Boosters as a memorial to a departed student who had a love and enjoyment of music and to a woman whose musical contributions included three musically talented children, church choir director, and teaching piano to countless students over the years.
In offering this scholarship, the Board wishes to honor graduating seniors of Illini Central High School who share the same love and enjoyment of music.
To be eligible for this scholarship, students must:
Be a graduating senior of Illini Central High School who will enroll in a college or post-secondary institution following graduation, where they will participate in music-related activities.
Have a minimum grade point of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale at the end of seven semesters.
Have at least six semesters enrollment in a high school performing music program or participated in music activities (pep band, parades, concerts, etc.) during any semesters in which there may have been a scheduling conflict.
Have participated in fundraising events which benefitted the music program.
Complete and return the application (linked below) along with a copy of their high school transcript by the deadline.
Award Conditions:
Scholarship awards are contingent upon verification of the student’s participation in music activities at their college or post-secondary institution. Verification may be required prior to distribution of funds.
Applications will be judged by the Illini Central Music Boosters Board.
Scholarships will be awarded at the Annual Music Awards Banquet.
Application deadline for the 2026-2027 school year will be announced soon.
